6 bikes under Rs 1.5 lakh with a projector headlight setup

Image
Projector headlights have been around for decades, first debuting in high-end cars before eventually trickling down to mass-market models. Motorcycles followed the same path – projectors were once reserved for premium bikes, but are now increasingly common even in affordable commuter machines. A projector setup can use either a halogen bulb or an LED, but the key advantage lies in better illumination, a more consistent spread, and a controlled beam throw compared to conventional reflector headlights. With demand for improved visibility on the rise, several manufacturers now offer this feature in the budget segment. Here’s a look at six motorcycles priced under Rs 1.5 lakh that come factory-fitted with projector headlights. 6. TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Rs 1.26 - 1.48 lakh TVS launched an update to celebrate 20 years of the Apache, introducing the updated RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V with a mono-projector LED headlight. Is the Mahindra BE 6 a good option for a big and tall driver?

Image
I'm looking for a daily driver, preferably an EV, to replace my 2010 Toyota Fortuner AT. Since I'm 6-feet tall and 120kg, I need something that is spacious and comfortable, particularly the driver's seat – I regularly drive over 100km in a single day. I really like the Mahindra BE 6, what is your opinion? Harish, Jaipur Autocar India says: Despite the Mahindra BE 6 's exterior dimensions, it isn't a very spacious car, and even the front seats are narrow, so it might not be an ideal choice for someone of your height or build. The XEV 9e on the other hand, is more spacious, and is a relatively more comfortable option. It also fares well in terms of performance, range and features, and its pricing isn't too far off than a BE 6. Since you haven't mentioned your budget, ICE options, for similar money as the BE 6, are the Mahindra XUV700 and Toyota Innova Hycross / Maruti Invicto , also seem to meet your requirements. Most affordable scooters with ABS in India

Image
ABS technology has gradually made its way from premium motorcycles to the scooter segment, offering more riders with better safety and confidence. For the millions of scooter riders navigating the often unpredictable road conditions in our country, ABS can be a crucial safety net. This list of affordable ABS scooters is likely to change dramatically from January 2026 onwards, when the government is expected to make ABS mandatory on all new two-wheelers regardless of engine capacity. For now though, ABS remains a premium feature primarily found on higher-end scooters.  5. Yamaha Aerox 155 The Yamaha Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.54 lakh The Yamaha Aerox 155 was one of the earlier launches in this segment and quickly caught the attention of enthusiasts, not just for its unconventional styling (compared to most scooters in India) but also for its engine, which is heavily derived from the R15’s unit. It features Yamaha’s VVA technology and produces 14.75hp and 13.9Nm. The Aerox 1...

Hero Xpulse 210 or Suzuki V-Strom SX: Which is the better buy under Rs 2.60 lakh?

Image
I am looking for a new bike for myself. I usually travel on highways and occasionally go off-roading and I also want a bike that's suitable for city riding. Between the Hero Xpulse 210 and Suzuki V-Strom SX, which would you recommend? My budget is Rs 2.60 lakh.  Farooq Nizami, via social media Autocar India says: Both options you have shortlisted are good city bikes with reasonable highway manners. The one area where the Suzuki V-Strom SX and the Hero Xpulse 210 are quite far apart in terms of capability is in their off-road manners. The V-Strom SX is a dressed-up street bike using the same suspension units as the Gixxer 250 models whereas the Xpulse 210 is a proper dualsport with genuine off-road capabilities. If you have serious off-road ambitions, then we’d recommend going for the Xpulse 210 but if you’re mainly going to use your bike on the road, then the V-Strom SX is the more versatile option. Do bear in mind that at Rs 2.16 lakh, the Suzuki is a good deal more expe...

Is the BMW M340i a good replacement for an old F80 328i?

Image
My father is planning to replace his BMW F30 328i with a new sedan. This car will be driven by both of us and we both love to drive. He is keen to pick the 530Li, whereas I'm trying to convince him for the M340i. Please help. Prithvi, Hyderabad Autocar India says: It is a classic head vs heart case – where the 5 Series Long Wheelbase appeals to the head, the M340i tugs at the heartstrings. The 530Li is a very comfortable sedan, with better space, as well as prestige value. For its size, it drives quite well, and if it is a luxurious touring car you're looking for, get the 530Li. However, since you mentioned that you and your father love to drive, the M340i is for you. Performance is stonking and its six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine makes for a sporty and likeable aural experience. It is dynamically much superior and sharper to drive than the 530Li, and despite its handling prowess, the new adaptive dampers ensure that ride comfort is far more forgiving than before. Do no...
