Yamaha has announced that it will be launching a new product on 11th November. Given that we finally have the long awaited XSR155 spotted testing on our roads, the signs are that the XSR155 Indian launch could happen in less than two months' time.

Yamaha XSR155: Spied Testing On Indian Roads

This highly-anticipated, neo-retro motorcycle is expected to launch in November.

Yamaha’s neo-retro roadster, the XSR155, has been spied testing for the very first time in India, confirming its long-awaited arrival. Based on the R15 V4’s platform, the XSR-155 makes use of the proven 155cc, single-cyl, liquid-cooled engine producing around 18 hp and 14 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
 
The test mule spotted here is completely blacked out, but signature styling elements are visible including a round LED headlamp, 17-inch alloy wheels, a teardrop fuel tank, a flat bench seat, USD forks, a rear monoshock, and disc brakes at both ends. 
 
 
In terms of safety features, we can expect the bike to be offered with dual-channel ABS and a traction control system. The XSR will appeal to riders who want the performance of the R15 and MT-15, but with neo-retro looks. Additionally, it should also get some connectivity features but we will know more about that once the motorcycle is officially launched. 
 
The XSR 155 will mostly be positioned between the MT-15 and R15 and that should put it at around Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom) when it is launched. This is taking into account the new GST rates, which makes it a great time for the entry of this 155cc motorcycle in our market.
