How much power does the Triumph Daytona 660 make?

The Daytona 660 is powered by the same 660cc mill as found in the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660. However, in this bike, the 660cc triple is in its most powerful state making 95hp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm. That is a bump of 14hp and 5Nm over the other two 660cc models.

What is the top speed of the Triumph Daytona 660? 

Triumph doesn’t claim a top speed figure for the Daytona 660. But given the fact that it has 95hp at its disposal, as well as slippery fully faired bodywork, the bike should be able to exceed 200kph, given a long enough stretch of open road.

How much does the Triumph Daytona 660 weigh? 

The Daytona 660 weighs 201kg, which makes it heavier than some flagship litre-class superbikes on sale. The Trident 660 – with which the Daytona 660 has many similarities – weighs 189kg, making it 12kg lighter than the fully faired Triumph 660.

In India, the Daytona 660 is priced at Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom, India), making it the most expensive 660cc model in the line-up. However, in the UK, the Daytona 660 is priced below the Tiger Sport 660, which shows that Bajaj foresees people shelling out extra for the fully faired sportbike over a practical all rounder. At this price, the Daytona 660 is Rs 45,000 more affordable than the Street Triple R, which makes more power, has better componentry, more features and packs in a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. Only time will tell if this pricing strategy was correct.

TVS’ scooter market share increases in the April-January period

After seeing a sustained slowdown for over two years, India's scooter market is finally recovering. As per the wholesale numbers, released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), a total of 43,61,347 units were dispatched in the April 2022 to January 2023 period. This is an increase of 9,79,594 units or a 29 percent year-on-year increase - April 2021-January 2022 was 33,81,753 units. Petrol scooter OEMs market share: details The top five OEMs account for 41,35,615 units or 95 percent of the total but dissect this further and the top three players – Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), TVS Motor Company and Suzuki – cumulatively have 36,69,244 units or 84 percent of the industry numbers. While these three have each recorded over 20 percent growth, the fastest growth (at 50 percent) comes from TVS, which is reflected in its 24 percent market share, up from 20.42 percent a year ago.
