Citroen launches Basalt X Comfort Edition at Rs 8.75 lakh

As part of its 108-year celebration, Citroen India has launched the Basalt X Comfort Edition from an ex-showroom price starting at Rs 8.75 lakh. This special edition for the Citroen coupe-SUV, as the brand says, brings a range of "premium interior enhancements, convenience features and curated personalisation options". The Basalt is the second Citroen model to get the 'Comfort Edition' treatment, as it was first introduced with the Aircross.

Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition: What's new?

The Comfort Edition of the Basalt X comes with 'Comfort AXS' packs, which are available on the base 'You' and mid 'Plus' trims of the Basalt. This includes beige leatherette seat upholstery, a 10.25-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, a JBL audio system, dual dashcams with predictive safety alerts, and a rear view camera.
Citroen Basalt engine and gearbox options
The base 'You' trim of the Basalt is powered solely by an 82hp, 115Nm, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that's mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The mid-level 'Plus' trim adds a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that churns out 110hp and 190Nm of torque. The engine can be mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. With the latter, the engine's torque is bumped up to 205Nm.
