Norton Atlas spotted testing in India again

Norton Atlas spotted testing in India again

TVS acquired Norton Motorcycles in 2020 and showcased multiple new bikes at EICMA 2025 which included the V4 duo, Atlas and Atlas GT adventure motorcycles. The two adventure bikes have been spotted doing multiple test runs on the Indian roads ahead of its official launch. The ADV bike’s production will take place at TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

  1. The Atlas is powered by a 585cc parallel twin engine.
  2. Alloy wheels likely to be standard on the India specific variant.
  3. Tubeless cross spoke wheels will likely be an accessory

Norton Atlas spotted: What’s new?

The Atlas range will be available in two guises - Standard and GT.

The upcoming Norton Atlas has been spied testing in India yet again ahead of its launch. The recently spotted motorcycle seems to be the standard variant, as it runs on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. The spy shots reveal that the motorcycle will get a dual projector LED headlight with LED DRLs. Other details such as a tall windscreen, golden-coloured USD front fork, upswept exhaust pipe, knuckle guards, single piece seat, and a grab rail can also be seen. The particular test bike seems to differ from the motorcycle that was showcased at EICMA 2025. The standard Atlas at EICMA was featured with tubeless wire-spoke wheels, but the test bike spotted in India has been running the alloy wheels which looks similar to the one seen on the TVS RTX. This is similar to the model listed on Norton’s India website that also comes with alloy wheels.

Powering the Atlas will be a 585cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank, mated to a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a quickshifter. The power and torque figures are yet to be revealed on the company’s website. The motorcycle will also feature an 8-inch TFT display with connectivity, multiple riding modes, traction control, cruise control, heated grips and other electronic rider aids. Braking hardware includes twin discs at the front with ByBre calipers, while the rear gets a single disc setup

Norton is officially expected to offer the Atlas in two variants, Standard and GT. The GT trim will be the road-focused version with 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and the standard model will be the variant to run on 19/17-inch tubeless wire-spoke wheels. But for India we expect the standard variant to be offered with alloy wheels and cross-spoke wheels to be offered as an accessory. Both variants will be available in five colours.

Norton Atlas will be manufactured at TVS’ Hosur facility and we expect it to be priced competitively, preferring alloys over tubeless wire-spoke wheels could likely help TVS keep costs competitive and price the Atlas more aggressively for the Indian market especially after
the GST 2.0 norm that has resulted in motorcycles above 350cc to attract higher taxes.
The Atlas will directly rival the Kawasaki Versys 650 and TVS could launch the Norton Atlas range in India in the second half of 2026, however that remains to be seen.
