February 2026 bike and scooter sales see Hero-Honda battle rage on

The second month of 2026 is now well and truly in our rearview mirror, and sales figures for each of the six heavyweights in the Indian two-wheeler market are out. Here’s how each brand performed.

Hero: 5,16,968 units

Hero MotoCorp retained its top spot in the market but did so while reporting a marginal 0.62 percent decrease from 5,20,208 units in January 2026. However, compared to its February 2025 sales of 3,57,296 units, it posted a substantial 44.69 percent increase. Hero’s overseas business also recorded good growth, with 41,248 units exported last month compared to 37,633 units in January.

Hero’s electric subsidiary, Vida, has patented the designs of the Ubex and VXZ electric bikes in India, signalling that these EVs are nearing production.

Honda: 5,13,190 units

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India wasn’t too far behind Hero and it too reported a minute 1.23 percent decrease in comparison to its January 2026 sales tally of 5,19,579 units. Just like Hero, Honda too reported a big increase of 33.67 percent in comparison to its sales in February 2025 (3,83,918 units). Honda’s exports were a whisker lower in February (54,161 units)  when compared to 54,832 units exported in January.

It has been a year now since Honda entered the Indian electric two-wheeler market and it has been a tepid one for its two products - the QC1 and the Activa e:.

TVS: 3,65,471 units

Like Honda and Hero, TVS Motor Company too reported a small 4.64 percent decline compared to its sales in January 2026 (3,83,262 units). Similarly, TVS also reported a 32.38 percent increase when compared to its sales numbers for the past February (2,76,072 units). TVS’ export business also increased with the company shipping 1,42,391 units overseas in February 2026 compared to the 1,22,343 units exported in January. It bears mentioning that TVS – currently the Indian electric two-wheeler market’s leader – doesn’t bundle the sales of its electric scooters – the best-selling iQube, Orbiter and X – into the above numbers.

Recently, TVS became the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer globally, overtaking Yamaha in the process to do so.

Bajaj: 1,86,164 units

Continuing the trend of month-on-month sales decline is fourth-placed Bajaj who reported a 13.30 percent decrease last month compared to its January 2026 sales number of 2,14,727 units. However, in comparison to its sales in February 2025 (1,46,138 units), Bajaj reported a noticeable 27.39 percent increase. India’s largest two-wheeler exporter sent 1,93,757 units in February which was an increase over the 1,91,568 units it sent overseas in January. It is worth mentioning that Bajaj bundles the sales of both the Chetak electric scooter portfolio and sub-400cc KTM as well as Triumph models it manufactures and distributes in India into the above figure.

Bajaj recently refreshed the Classic Pulsar 125 and 150 before these bikes get a full generation change later this year.

Suzuki: 1,01,071 units

Suzuki bucked the trend of month-on-month decline, reporting a 7.75 percent increase over its January 2026 sales (1,00,296 units). It also reported a handsome 37.60 percent growth compared to its February 2025 sales number of 73,455 units. Suzuki’s international sales were slightly down last month at 22,228 units compared to the 25,490 units it sent overseas in January.

Suzuki recently entered the electric two-wheeler market in India with its new e-Access which has gotten off to a rather slow start.

Royal Enfield: 91,248 units

Just like every other company on this list - barring Suzuki - Royal Enfield too reported a small 2.70 percent decline when compared to its January 2026 sales (93,781 units). Much like those other brands, RE also reported a noticeable 12.93 percent increase in comparison to its February 2025 sales (80,799 units). Monthly exports in February - at 9,657 units - were also slightly lower compared to those in January (10,541 units).

Royal Enfield will soon enter the electric two-wheeler market in India with its Flying Flea electric bikes - the roadster-styled C6 and the scrambler-esque S6.
