Upcoming Lexus launches in India in 2026

Lexus is likely to launch the next-generation ES sedan in India in 2026. The ES is currently the only sedan in the company's lineup, having been on sale since 2018. The GX SUV may also make its Indian debut, joining the brand's flagship SUV fleet with the LX. Here's what we know so far.

  1. The next-gen ES is likely to be offered in two hybrid variants.
  2. Both launches are expected by the second half of 2026.

2026 Lexus ES

Launch: H2 2026; Price: Rs 70-80 lakh (est.); Engine: 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid

The next-gen Lexus ES made its global debut earlier this year, and given that the current model has been on sale in India since 2018 – contributing to around 50 percent of the brand’s sales – it’s only a matter of time before it arrives here. It gets two 2.5-litre hybrid powertrains: a 201hp version in the 300h, while the 350h is in a stronger 247hp tune; all versions are paired to an eCVT. Inspired by the LF-ZC concept, the design is sharper and more aerodynamic, and the cabin has been revamped with a 14-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch driver display. An EV will also be offered globally, although whether it will launch here remains uncertain. The new ES is expected to be priced between Rs 70 lakh and Rs 80 lakh, with a launch likely in the second half of 2026.

2026 Lexus GX

Launch: H2 2026; Price: Rs 1.5-2 crore (est.); Engine: 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6

For the first time, the Lexus GX is coming to RHD markets like Australia and Japan, which means an India launch is possible. It sits on the same TNGA-F ladder-frame platform as the Land Cruiser Prado, with a squarer, more upright design. Power comes from a 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 349hp, paired with a 10-speed automatic with full-time 4WD as standard. The cabin is more premium than the rugged exterior suggests, with the option of a 6- or 7-seat layout. The 2026 Lexus GX is likely to launch in the second half of 2026 as well, and could be priced between Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 2 crore.

All prices are ex-showroom
