TVS Apache RTX Performance Tested and Explained

The TVS Apache RTX makes use of the new RT-XD4 engine, which was first unveiled at MotoSoul 2024. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a bidirectional quickshifter. Here is what our performance tests revealed.
TVS Apache RTX: Acceleration
Testing of the RTX was conducted on a dry road during the winter season.
For a clean launch off the line, we switched off the Traction Control system. The acceleration is potent from the get-go, and the tyres provided adequate grip. While the quickshifter works well during cruising, we switched it off to achieved the quickest run. The clutch action is fairly light and gearshifts are slick. The bike was kept in Rally mode for this acceleration test and it achieved the 0-100kph run in under 8 seconds.
TVS Apache RTX: Roll-on acceleration
The RT-XD4, 299.1cc, single-cylinder engine makes 36hp at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
The RTX is also fairly tractable and in our in-gear roll-on tests, proved that it can make quick overtakes with its strong mid-range performance. There are noticeable vibrations that creep in at the footpegs as the bike hits the higher rev range, but nothing that ruins the ride experience.
TVS Apache RTX: Braking
Not the sharpest braking setup, but gets the job done.
Braking on the RTX feels decent, and the bike comes to a halt in a controlled manner, but the ABS is intrusive under hard/emergency braking. The ABS intervention changes depending on the mode which is engaged and our result was taken from the braking test in Rally mode. In Tour mode, the ABS felt more intrusive under hard braking.
TVS Apache RTX: Specifications and price
The bike is priced starting at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The RTX is available in three variants: Base, Top, and BTO (Built To Order). The Base is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, the Top is priced at Rs 2.14 lakh and the BTO is the most premium, priced at Rs 2.34 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The Base variant misses out on the quickshifter and the Viper Green colour scheme can only be had with the BTO variant.
