JSW MG Motor India to hike prices from January 2026

JSW MG Motor India has announced a 2 percent price hike across all its models. MG says that the price increase will be effective from January 1 2026, and is due to the rising input costs and other macroeconomic factors.

  1. MG states that the price hike varies as per the model and variant chosen
  2. The price hike is due to a rise in input costs and macroeconomic factors.

Here's the expected price of two popular MG models after the price hike

For example, MG's best-selling model, the Windsor EV, could see a price increase of about Rs 30,000 - Rs 37,000, taking the ex-showroom price up to Rs 14.27 lakh to Rs 18.76 lakh.

Similarly, MG's most affordable Comet EV could see a price hike ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000, bringing the ex-showroom price up to Rs 7.64 lakh to Rs 10.19 lakh.

MG recently launched the Hector facelift

The mid-size SUV received minor updates to its exterior and gets new interior colours

MG recently introduced the facelifted Hector, with a redesigned front grille, new interior colour themes, alloy wheel design, and comes with features like a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with swipe gestures, 7-inch digital driver's display, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, auto AC, and ventilated and powered front seats.

Prices for the Hector facelift start from Rs 11.99 lakh and go up to Rs 18.99 lakh. The recently updated Hector Plus in 7-seater form is priced between Rs 17.29 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh. Prices for the diesel and 6-seater variants of the Hector will be announced in 2026.

The price hikes by MG are a response to the ongoing market conditions, following other brands announcing price hikes as well. Similarly, brands like Mercedes-Benz and BYD also announced price hikes across their respective portfolios effective from January 2026 because of currency pressures and facing a rise in operational costs.
