The Tata Sierra is set to make a comeback on November 25, 2025, and the manufacturer has been teasing the upcoming SUV for some time now.

Now, Tata Motors has dropped the official teaser of the Sierra EV, giving an early look at its electric-specific styling and features. The clip also shows how closely the production model follows the 2023 Auto Expo concept.

  2. EV gets closed-off front and different bumper from the ICE model
  3. Key proportions, light bar and wraparound rear glass retained

Retains concept-like LED light bar and wraparound rear glass

The design appears production-ready while still retaining the concept’s key visual elements.

The Sierra EV continues with the upright stance and the wraparound rear glass seen on the 2023 concept. The new teaser also shows a simple, closed-off front end with no traditional grille openings. The bumper is smooth and flat, with only the light bar and lower vent area visible.

The overall proportions, including the high bonnet, wide stance and short overhangs, remain very similar to the concept.

Tata Sierra EV vs ICE: Key visual differences

Closed grille, smoother bumper set EV apart from ICE model

Production design retains iconic silhouette and light bar.

The EV and ICE versions share the same basic shape and lighting elements, but the front-end design is different. The ICE Sierra gets a textured grille section, a gloss-black upper strip and visible cooling vents in the bumper.

The Sierra EV, in contrast, uses a closed-off front panel with a smoother bumper and fewer openings. The EV also gets different alloy wheels, while the ICE version uses more conventional designs. Both models keep the connected LED light bar and wraparound rear glass, but the EV has a more minimal look overall.

Further EV details expected once the ICE model is launched

Tata has confirmed that the Sierra will be offered in both ICE and all-electric versions. The ICE model will be unveiled on November 25, 2025, with the Sierra EV set to follow. Detailed EV specifications are yet to be revealed, but the electric model is expected to use the CurvvEV’s 55kWh battery and the larger 65kWh unit from the Harrier EV.

The Sierra EV will compete with other midsize electric SUVs, including the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara.
