TVS Jupiter

TVS has recently updated its Jupiter scooter with a new motor, more features and revamped styling. It’s currently available in four variants and we’re here to break it down and elaborate what each variant brings.

TVS Jupiter line-up: Styling

TVS’ Jupiter line-up is available in four variants called Drum, Drum Alloy, Drum SmartXonnect and Disc SmartXconnect. The entry level Drum variant doesn’t get the LED DRL setup, rides on a set of steel wheels and is available in three colours called Meteor Red Gloss, Titanium Grey Matte and Lunar White Gloss. The Drum Alloy variant rides on a set of alloy wheels and is available with the same colours as the Drum variant with an additional colour called Starlight Blue Gloss also available.

The Drum SmartXonnect variant is available in three colours called Galactic Copper Matte, Dawn Blue Matte and Starlight Blue Gloss. It also features the new LED DRL light bar setup along with LED indicators which is only available on the top two variants. The top-spec SmartXonnect Disc variant is visually the same as the variant that sits below it and the only difference is the front disc brake. Apart from these key styling changes, all four variants carry the same overall design.

TVS Jupiter line-up: Performance

The new Jupiter 110 is powered by a 113cc single-cylinder that has been derived from the Jupiter 125 and it produces 8hp at 6,500rpm and 9.2Nm at 5,000rpm. While all four variants get the same motor, the top-spec SmartXonnect variants get TVS’s iGO assist which uses the battery to provide a temporary boost in acceleration and increases torque from 9.2Nm to 9.8Nm. Apart from this key difference, all four variants share the same motor and remain unchanged otherwise.

TVS Jupiter line-up: Features

The base Drum and Drum Alloy variants get features such as a LED headlight and taillamp with halogen indicators. Additionally, on the SmartXonnect variants you also get a follow me home feature, an emergency brake warning, self cancelling indicators and hazard lights. Both base variants use a simple analogue speedometer. Whereas the two SmartXonnect variants get a LCD dash that showcases information such as distance to empty, and average fuel consumption. This unit is also Bluetooth compatible and includes features such as Call & SMS alerts, navigation prompts, voice assist and find my vehicle.
