After watching your drag race video, I test drove the Fronx Turbo manual and was bowled by its 1-litre's performance. I'm in a dilemma now, between the Fronx Turbo Alpha MT and Hyundai i20 N Line N8 MT, which is the better driver's car? Roshan Ansari, Coimbatore Autocar India says: Suzuki's 1.0-litre turbo-petrol has lesser turbo lag and better judged gear ratios, hence it feels more drivable compared to the i20 N Line. The Fronx gets an SUV-ish appearance, it has a raised stance and its excellent ride and handling balance further add to driver's confidence. However, between the two, the Hyundai i20 N Line manual is the better driver's car. Besides all the sporty cosmetics add ons, the N Line's 1.0-litre turbo makes 20hp and 24Nm more than the Fronx Turbo. There are numerous ways to increase traction; in this blog we’ll concentrate on tyres. One of the first modifications that people usually get done once they buy their 4x4 is to change its tyres. Tyres not only drastically alter the off-road capability of your vehicle, they also completely change the looks of it as well. An easy and surefire way to increase traction is to lower the pressure in your tyres. This will lead to a broader contact patch between the tyre and the ground. It also lets your tyre conform to the shape of any rock or surface, thereby aiding traction. And lastly, a wider footprint lets you float over muddy and sandy obstacles. The only drawback is that lowering the pressure reduces your car’s ground clearance. You shouldn’t lower the pressure too much, else you run the risk of unseating the bead. Citroen recently revealed the Basalt coupe-SUV for India which will be brand’s fourth model based on the C-Cubed programme. The underpinnings are similar for all body styles on the modular CMP architecture – the C3 and eC3 hatchbacks, the C3 Aircross SUV and now the Basalt coupe-SUV – but in essence, the Basalt is closest to the C3 Aircross. Although Citroen hasn’t announced exact dimensions yet, it will measure a similar 4.3 meters in length, slotting right in the midsize SUV class. So far, its only the exterior design of the Basalt that has been revealed, and here we are taking a closer look at all the similarities and differences it has with its SUV counterpart. With my cousin and sister-in-law both in town and wanting to take in Mumbai’s sights, I knew I’d need plenty of seats, so it was the seven-seater Mercedes EQB from our long-term fleet that I reached for. We’ve all used it before but that was on short trips around the office, where we have our charger. Automatic variants of mass market cars cost slightly higher than their manual counterparts, but the ease of operation and the comfort they offer make them a popular choice. Given the increasing popularity of automatic cars and SUVs, manufacturers have started offering them across multiple trim levels in recent times. Here’s a list of all SUVs in India under Rs 10 lakh that are available with an automatic gearbox in March 2024. 6. Embracer Group has divested Gearbox Entertainment from its stable of video game studios, with Take-Two Interactive purchasing the company for $460 million. This sale is part of Embracer’s massive, ongoing restructuring designed to cut costs after a planned $2 billion deal with Saudi Arabia-backed Savvy Games Group fell through in 2023. The sale comes three years after Embracer acquired Gearbox for $1.3 billion in 2021.  This move means Embracer no longer owns Gearbox’s development entities, such as Gearbox Software, Gearbox Montreal, and Gearbox Studio Quebec, nor franchises such as Borderlands/Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Homeworld, Risk of Rain, Brothers in Arms, and Duke Nukem. These assets will be acquired by Take-Two, which owns Rockstar Games and 2K, among other labels. Closing of the transaction is expected to take place in fiscal year Q1 2024/25, pending customary regulatory approvals. The World Car of the year 2024 winners have been announced and it’s the EV9, Kia’s flagship SUV that has bagged not one but two big titles.  The EV9 is this year’s World Car of the year as well as the World Electric Vehicle of the year 2024. The World Car of the year title is selected by a jury of 100 distinguished automotive journalists representing 29 countries which includes Hormazd Sorabjee, editor, Autocar India, and Renuka Kirpalani, consulting video editor, Autocar India. In the overall World Car of the Year category, the EV9 was chosen from an initial entry list of 38 vehicles from all over the world, then a shortlist of three finalists – the BYD Seal, the Kia EV9 and the Volvo EX30. The World Car Awards recognised the Kia EV9’s innovative design, spacious seven-seat interior, and competitive price point. Tata Motors has expanded the Nexon compact SUV’s already expansive line-up by adding five new AMT variants. The Nexon petrol-AMT range now starts at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the Smart+ trim while the diesel-AMT versions are now priced from Rs 11.80 lakh for the Pure trim. In 2020, indie studio Yellow Brick Games was formed by a collection of industry veterans with experience on triple-A franchises such as Dragon Age, Assassins’ Creed, and Mass Effect. After quietly working on its first project, the team is ready to show the world what it’s been cooking up. The studio released a brief teaser of their yet-to-be-titled first game. A press release states that this mysterious project is a fantasy action-adventure title targeting a 2025 release. The Hyundai Verna and the Rawla Narlai are as different as chalk and cheese. Hyundai ’s Genesis luxury brand has released details of the Genesis Neolun SUV concept that will see a public debut at the New York Auto Show this year.  This concept will most likely spawn a future three-row luxury SUV and even a potential Mercedes-Maybach GLS rival. The Genesis Neolun SUV, according to the brand, is inspired by "Korea’s iconic moon-shaped porcelain jars," according to Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke. The Neolun SUV concept gets a boxy yet stylish look that includes Genesis’s signature "two lines" lighting motif front and rear. On the outside, the SUV concept gets Midnight Black and Majestic Blue two-tone paint job, and on the inside it has Royal Indigo leather with white piping which makes it look very premium. Stellar Blade’s development was announced in 2019 by Korean developer Shift Up Second EVE Studio for current-gen consoles, boasting talent from the popular MMO Blade & Soul. It wasn’t until 2021, however, that we got our first proper look at Stellar Blade during a PlayStation showcase, where it was shown with its former title, Project Eve. For those not paying close attention to Korean video game news, it felt like it came out of nowhere. In the trailer, a beautiful woman is seen fighting a hybrid monster robot. She uses a sword to break off one of the cyborg creature’s arms to use as a weapon before being thrown through a wall, revealing the fight was happening on a space station all along.
