10 most affordable cars, SUVs with 360-degree camera
Modern cars are quickly becoming feature-laden as buyers now prefer comfort, convenience and a big features list over performance. Talking about features, many cars and SUV get equipment like wireless smartphone charging, smartphone integration, parking cameras and more. However, a high-tech feature that’s been making its way to many mass-market vehicles is a 360-degree camera.
The 360-degree camera shows a surround view of the vehicle such as the front, sides and rear as opposed to the single view provided by the rear parking camera. This set-up helps drivers manoeuvre in tight spots, through traffic and while parking as it allows for a top-down view of the vehicle helping drivers place their vehicle precisely.
We bring you a list of the most affordable cars and SUVs that get a 360-degree camera.
1. Nissan Magnite
Price: Rs 8.59 lakh-10.08 lakh
The most affordable vehicle on this list is the Nissan Magnite compact SUV. It gets the 360-degree camera, which Nissan calls the Bird’s Eye View, in the top-spec XV Premium. This trim is available with the 72hp, 96Nm, 1.0-litre petrol as well as the 100hp, 160Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. While both engines are available with the 5-speed manual gearbox, the turbo-petrol also gets a CVT which produces 152Nm of torque. The Magnite is a sharp and modern-looking compact SUV that is comfortable on the inside, well-equipped and is easy to drive.
2. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Price: Rs 9.33 lakh-9.88 lakh
While you’ll see many Maruti Suzuki models on this list, the most affordable model by the brand – that gets a 360-degree camera – is the Baleno premium hatchback. However, this feature is only available with the top-spec Alpha trim. The Baleno is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 90hp and 113Nm of torque, and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. Compared to the previous gen, this second-gen Baleno is now far better in the ride and handling department. The safety and equipment on offer are also at par with the competition.
3. Toyota Glanza
Price: Rs 9.63 lakh-10 lakh
Based on the Baleno, the Toyota Glanza also offers a 360-degree camera on the top-of-the-line V trim. It is powered by the same 1.2-lire petrol engine producing 90hp and 113Nm of torque, like the Baleno. Powered is delivered by either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. The second-gen Glanza has a peppy engine, the ride quality from the new suspension is superb, and the added safety and equipment will be a big draw for buyers.
4. Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Price: Rs 11.48 lakh-12.98 lakh
The second Maruti Suzuki on the list is the newly-launched Fronx compact SUV, which again is based on the Baleno. Much like its hatchback counterpart, the Fronx gets a 360-degree camera on the Alpha trim. While the Fronx is available with two engines, the Alpha only gets the 100hp, 148Nm, 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine that is coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. If people can take to its crossover looks, the Fronx is a well-equipped, reasonably spacious and practical, and easy-to-drive compact crossover.
5. Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Price: Rs 12.48 lakh-13.98 lakh
Like all previously mentioned cars and SUVs on this list, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza also gets a 360-degree camera in the range-topping ZXI+ trim. The compact SUV gets a 1.5-litre K15C petrol producing 103hp and 137Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Brezza is a decently equipped SUV with plenty of comfortable space and a good ride, however, it is let down by the weak engine performance and higher pricing.
6. Maruti Suzuki XL6
Price: Rs 12.56 lakh-14.66 lakh
The only MPV in this sea of SUVs and hatchbacks to get a 360-degree camera is the Maruti Suzuki XL6. Another differentiating factor for the XL6 is that it offers this feature in two trims – Alpha and Alpha+. It comes with the same 103hp, 137Nm, 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The XL6 is a spacious and comfortable car, and its more efficient engine as well as more features has made the XL6 an appealing proposition.
7. MG Astor
Price: Rs 15.15 lakh-18.89 lakh
Starting off the midsize SUVs in this list is the MG Astor. Like the XL6, the Astor also gets a 360-degree camera (called Around View Camera) in the top-spec Sharp and Savvy trims. The Astor is the first model in the list to offer this feature with two engine options – 110hp, 144Nm 1.5-litre petrol and 140hp, 220Nm, 1.3-litre turbo-petrol. The former is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT, while the latter only gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Astor is a refined and comfy midsize SUV, however, its laid-back character won’t appeal to driving enthusiasts.
8. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
Price: Rs 15.41 lakh-19.79 lakh
Rounding of Maruti Suzuki models in this list is the Grand Vitara midsize SUV. It offers a 360-degree camera on the Alpha and Alpha+ trims. The former gets the 103hp, 137Nm 1.5-litre K15C engine mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The latter gets a 116hp 1.5-litre petrol engine with a strong-hybrid system that is mated to an e-CVT. The Grand Vitara feels suitably upmarket, is comfortable and is well equipped. What lets it down is the small boot in the strong-hybrid version, which is also priced at a premium.
9. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
Price: Rs 15.91 lakh-19.74 lakh
A sibling of the Grand Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder also offers a 360-degree camera on the top-end V trim. Like its Maruti sibling, the Hyryder gets a choice of a 103hp, 137Nm, 1.5-litre petrol and a 116hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine with a strong-hybrid system. The former is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, while the latter gets only an e-CVT. The Hyryder gets looks modern and has a rugged appeal, and comes with a well-judged ride and handling balance.
10. MG Hector
Price: Rs 18.35 lakh-22.12 lakh
Rounding off the list of most affordable cars and SUVs with a 360-degree camera is the MG Hector. It gets a 360-degree camera only on the top-spec Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro trims. While the former gets a choice of 143hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, the latter is only available with the turbo-petrol. While both get the option of the 6-speed manual, the turbo-petrol is also available with a CVT (Savvy Pro trim only gets the CVT). The Hector may not be engaging to drive and the turbo-petrol is on the thirsty side but it works well as a refined SUV that’s big in size, big on features and is comfortable.
