Audi Q3 Sportback long term review, 23,500km report

Image
Spending an extended period with the Audi Q3 Sportback helped me explore its true character – a car that effortlessly blends luxury, sportiness and everyday usability. The journey has been a delightful one, filled with scenic drives, moments of pure driving pleasure, and a few quirks that add personality to the ownership experience. Whether it’s cruising on smooth highways or taking detours down lesser-known inner roads, the Q3 Sportback has proven to be a capable and stylish companion. For someone like me, who constantly seeks out beautiful and less-travelled roads, the Audi Q3 Sportback feels like the perfect partner. One of my favourite drives has been the route from Mumbai to Nashik. While most travellers stick to the straightforward National Highway 3, I find joy in exploring alternate paths that weave through the serene landscapes of the Sahyadri mountain ranges of the Western Ghats. It’s versatile enough to explore uncharted territory while keeping its occupants comfy. On ...

Cardo Packtalk Pro Bluetooth communicator review

Image
The Packtalk Pro sits above the Packtalk Edge, which I have been using nonstop across three different helmets for the last three years, come rain or shine. The Pro uses the same form factor with its clever magnetic mounting system, and it also continues with the same intuitive button layout. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the Edge, which continues to work perfectly well, but Big Bad Bikes sent us this latest unit to see what’s new. There are essentially three significant updates you get here, two of which are enabled by the incorporation of a new chip. The first of these is a new crash-detection system. I’m glad to report that I haven’t tested this fully, but the theory is that it detects when you have had a fall and then calls a pre-selected number if you don’t disable the prompt within 30 seconds. You do need to have your phone’s location data running full-time for this to work, and that does take a toll on battery life. The second new feature is that the device switches off ...

Audi Q3: how fuel efficient is the 2.0 TSI petrol engine?

Image
I am really keen on buying the 2024 Audi Q3 Technology, but the only thing stopping me is its fuel efficiency. Is it really 7kpl in the city? Nishant, Noida Autocar India says: The 2.0 TSI is a smooth engine, but, yes, its efficiency can drop if driven aggressively, falling to around 7kpl. Being a turbo-petrol, it is very sensitive to driving style, and if you drive with a very light foot, you could get double-digit figures. However, for normal driving, expect single-digit figures in heavy traffic. KTM 390 Adventure fuel economy tested, explained

Image
KTM has revised the 390 Adventure from stem to stern, and in its latest avatar, the small ADV is now more off-road focused than before. We’ve been able to spend an extended duration aboard the new 390 Adventure and here is its real-world mileage. KTM 390 Adventure real-world fuel efficiency As per our routine, we first ran the 390 Adventure on the highway for 53.7km, after which it took 1.79 litres to brim the tank, thereby arriving at an efficiency of 35.50kpl. We then headed to the packed streets of Mumbai to find out the city mileage. After running it for a smidge over 50km, it took 1.86 litres to fill the tank to the brim, which translates to 26.94kpl. KTM 390 Adventure fuel-economy analysis The 390 Adventure’s engine and internal gear ratios are shared with the 390 Duke but the Adventure has a larger rear sprocket (by three teeth), resulting in a shorter final drive ratio. This has been done so that the added weight that the Adventure carries over the Duke is compensated for....

Mercedes Maybach S 680 Night Series review: Night in shining armour

Image
When it comes to luxury cars, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has long been a benchmark, offering a level of refinement that is hard to beat. The new Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Night Series takes that opulence to another level, combining elevated luxury with distinctive dark accents and the power of a V12 engine. Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Night Series exterior Dual-tone Onyx Black and Mojave Silver paint 20-inch alloy wheels The Night Series offers exclusive exterior dual-tone paint combinations. While the Maybach S 680 shares much with its lesser S-Class counterparts, the Night Series edition adds a host of unique design features. These include unique paint shades, like the striking dual-tone Onyx Black and Mojave Silver pairing. Subtle touches, such as rose gold accents in the headlamps and dark chrome elements in the grille, further add to its exclusivity. The 20-inch wheels, whose seven spokes are surrounded by dozens of Maybach logos, also complement the car’s visually commanding presen...

Ultraviolette F99 India top speed record set: Speed Redefined

Image
There are plenty of parameters, but top speed is undoubtedly the de facto trump card and bragging right for any performance-oriented vehicle. So, a couple of months after the Ultraviolette F99 blitzed the quarter mile in a record-breaking 10.712s, it was time to answer the biggest question of them all – just how fast can this thing go? The science of speed In case you’re wondering, the F99 is a special project that UV’s R&D department has been working on for over a year with the sole intention of pushing the boundaries of performance. Everything on this bike is new and completely unrelated to the production-spec F77. The F99 moves to high-voltage 400V architecture, which has necessitated the incorporation of liquid cooling. While the standard F77 produces 40hp, this one triples that figure to 120hp. The torque number is even more impressive – 200Nm at the motor, which translates to a massive 972Nm at the rear wheel after the multiplication factor of the gearing! The business e...
