Tata Motors tops Mahindra, Hyundai to claim 2nd position in October sales

As per Vahan’s current passenger vehicle retail data, Tata Motors secured the second spot in October 2025 with 74,705 units. The company retailed 7,905 units more than Mahindra and 9,660 units more than Hyundai.

  2. Mahindra and Hyundai sales also increased by 77 percent and 81 percent, respectively.

Tata Motors’ consecutive second position

Tata Motors retailed 74,705 passenger vehicles in October 2025, according to Vahan data, maintaining its position just behind Maruti Suzuki. The brand had sold 38,286 units in August and 41,151 units in September, as per FADA reports. This translates to an impressive 81 percent month-on-month growth in October, likely driven by the recent festive season and GST cuts that brought price reductions of up to Rs 1.55 lakh on its passenger vehicles.

The Vahan sales data in October 2025 suggests that Tata Motors outperformed both Hyundai and Mahindra by a considerable margin. It sold 7,905 units more than Mahindra and 9,660 units more than Hyundai in the month.

Hyundai and Mahindra sales increase too

Mahindra and Hyundai have also seen a strong rise in sales during the same period. Mahindra’s sales grew from 37,659 units in September to 66,800 units in October, reflecting a 77 percent increase, while Hyundai’s sales increased from 35,812 units to 65,045 units, marking an 81 percent growth.
